A Look Back At 2008

Tomorrow is already Januray 5...dang! I am completely amazed at how fast 2008 passed! I have been thinking of all the things that happened in 2008 and how much our family grew and changed. We started off the year slow, usually do. We try to recover from all the traveling and hoopla from the holidays by just vegging out at home. In February, Marty turned 26, we celebrated low key with his parents. We also found a church that we all really love...praise God! March was an exciting month! My Papaw turned 80 and our niece, Hally Beth, was born! Being an aunt is just about as exciting as being a parent! She is absolutely beautiful and has quite the personality! In May us girls headed up to Brazil and surprised my Dad for his birthday. It's not every day he wakes up from his "nap" to a house full of kids and grandkids! 2009 brings the BIG 50 for Daddy...and Mom too! All our family came down for Macee's 1st birthday! It was great to have her grandparents, "aunts," uncles, cousin, great-grandma, great-aunt and uncle here to help celebrate such a special day! July brought a bit of sadness, Marty's grandmother passed away. It was bittersweet in knowing she was where she really wanted to be, with her husband who passed away a few years ago. Gary, Marty's dad, turned 60 in August...although, he said he stopped celebrating the year before when he turned 59! Rylee also had a birthday in August, the big 4! Again, grandparents, "aunts," uncles, and Hally came down to celebrate with us! Rylee started preschool at the end of August, she loves it, of course, and is doing fabulous and learning lots! As summer started to wind down, I celebrated my 25th birthday and Marty and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary! The Laritz Family blog was created and has since brought stories of what is going on within our little family! Y'all know what has happened since...but for a recap...in November we got an official addition to our family, Nick and Molly got married the day after Thanksgiving (also Molly's birthday!)!
Still can't believe that it's over already. We're now looking forward to all the exciting things that will happen in 2009! Out with the old, in with the new! Cheers to 2009!
