Eye Update

Macee's eye is looking MUCH better! Today you can hardly tell it's black...the color has faded a lot! Macee is seriously just going to be prone to things like this, she really is quite the dare devil! Not that I want my children to have bruises and have to make trips to the ER, but I'm glad that Macee isn't afraid of things and is such a determined little girl!

Elaboration and Clarification

MACEE'S EYE IS ALRIGHT! I've looked at it and have been watching her today. She doesn't seem to have any problems seeing...she is walking fine and playing normal. Her eye is just swollen and brusing from where she hit it. I promise that if I, or Marty, thought we needed to go see the doctor we would. AND, if it starts to look worse or she starts acting funny, I'll be sure to take her to see our ped.!

Rocky

I had just gotten to work for the evening when the phone rang. One of the other girl's answered it and said it was for me. I was caught off guard because unless I call Marty and he's returning my call, no one ever calls me at work. It was Marty. He said something about me not picking up the house and now Macee was going to have a black eye. (I didn't hear the "black eye" part at first because after he said I didn't pick up the house I got a bit livid. I don't think he realizes how many times I pick up this house through out the day only to turn around and there be another mess! I really need to install Nanny Cams so he can see what goes on during the day!) ANYWAYS! He wanted to know what he should do. Knowing Macee, I didn't think she would sit and let him hold ice or frozen veggies on her eye...I told him to try however, and then just let it be. Sure enough, her eye got red and swollen...she woke up this morning and her eye is half swollen shut and is blackening up! Marty was calling her "Rocky" before he left for work today.

I'm honestly not surprised with the black eye and surprised that it hasn't happened already with her. She is a little dare devil and does all sorts of things that I feel should either do this or take us to the ER!

"Mo!"

The little red puppet is back to being constantly watched in our house! ELMO, is repeating history through Macee! "Mo" or "MoMo" has become the new favorite of little Miss Macee...just as he was a favorite of Rylee at this exact same age! We have found that putting Elmo on helps to calm Macee down for naps and bedtime...he's a saving grace with getting kids to mellow out! For our sake though, we may need to invest in some new Elmo DVD's...hearing the same shows over and over are quite nerve racking!

Sleeping Arrangements

We have gotten things arranged so that once Rylee's bed arrives we can get it into their room. We spent New Year's Eve and New Year's Day moving her old bed out and getting both rooms cleaned and organized. Until her bed arrives, which should be between Monday and Thursday, we blew up the new air mattress she got from Santa for her to sleep on. Last night as Marty and I were getting ready to go to bed ourselves, he went in to check on the girls. I knew something funny was going on when he told me to go look at them and take the camera! We found Macee asleep with Rylee on her blow up mattress! So cute!

It's always moments like this that make you forget all the messes you pick up, the whining and crying, the screaming and fighting, and all the other constant battles of parenthood you deal with through the day!

"Woof, Woof"

I got some new slippers for Christmas, Macee thinks they are dogs! She will come up to them and start "woofing" at them! It is absolutely hilarious! I've started shaking my foot at her and "woofing" back...her and Rylee both get a kick out of that! It doesn't take much to entertain us girls!

Chocolate Chip Banana Pancakes...YUMMY!

We had some yummy chocolate chip banana pancakes for breakfast the other morning! Somewhat healthy, but oh, so good! Ry helped mix the pancake batter, she loves to bake/cook!
